I thought of you last night while I was at work...I do that often anyway, but this was different.

A "girl" (29) that I've stocked for for 8 years apparently had a seizure and was on the floor. By the time I figured out something was going on the line was already stopped, there was a small crowd gathered while one of her teamates tried to place hold her head to get it out of the pool of blood gathering on the floor, another (a nurse in her day job) cleared her airway was checking her eyes and a 3rd, our committeman was covering her with his jacket.

The medical people from our plant came about then and started trying to order everyone to leave her alone, but they were doing nothing; they had no intention of touching her at all- they were waiting for the city paramedics. Who were there 4 minutes after the people who are supposed to look after us were, and would have been there sooner had they not had to beat on the window to wake up "security" to let them in!

They checked the same things that Kelly had and put her on a stretcher with a neck brace; by then she was starting to show some movement again, and as they put her on the gurney to wheel her out I saw her hands moving.

Scary enough when us oldsters hit the floor, but when it's the young ones it's really frightening!

And afterwards all of us made promises that after the response we saw, if we ever hit the floor, someone else will call "The Real 911"!

I called the dispatcher on my way home and asked her to pass along my thanks and she said she'd never gotten a call like that before, and that she would...

Thank you for all the times you've gone after or sent someone after another!

Sorry about the grammatical misfire...still pretty upset about the whole thing.

First Jessie (another team member) was holding her head, then just before the paramedics got there they slipped a small cushion under her head so Jessie could get the blood off her hands. I hadn't seen that much blood since I was in the service...they said later she had bitten her tongue badly and broken her nose when she hit the concrete floor...

*I also think of you, every time I hear a siren.
No exaggeration.

Are you in Vegas now?
I hope you win big.
Can't imagine Vegas at Halloween.
Or maybe you can't really tell a difference.

Have a good trip. Sincerely.

Vegas and the Hardrock on Halloween are a blast. Although if you can find any good people watching location there the show should be quite enjoyable. See ya Saturday.
