Passing Lane

Some times the fumes are just too strong when shaping a surfboard.

?

One of the givens in firefighting is that if it isnt burning -

We cant put it out.

Another Start

Changed the starter in K's car today but that wasnt the problem. Spent all morning and most of the nooner doing it. Small cars and Big Hands = Bad.

Changed Aunty R's oil and air filter and with out wanting to; changed her Transmission fluid.

I kept wondering why the plug looked so different, and the 'oil' was so clean.

Doh!

Alan will relate to my ineptitude / Boy did I feel like a doofus when I looked on the other side of the motor, and saw the oil plug.

Doh!

If I find my way home after the pinkish, I am lucky.

Aloha.

I know about those big hands and small cars, my friend...mine don't even fit sometimes on the bigger ones!

And those extra plugs just sneak up on you, you know?

At 500% magnification I could almost make out the writing on that beautiful board, but not quite...I probably wouldn't know what I was reading anyway! I've learned a few names in my reading, but not many...yet!

:o)

:) Transmission fluid isn't the same as motor oil?
There's more than one plug in a car engine?

I used to fiddle with my '84 Olds stationwagon, but the first time Tom came in from the garage with a black squirt mark down his shirt and multiple cussings spewing from his oily lips, I knew my days of oil changing were numbered.
Here's to the great men who are still bravely changing oil!
I admit it. I'm too chicken to even pull the plugs.

With my hands and your knowledge, bro, we could move mountains. Or Mazdas. Or something.

It's finally clear to me, one of the reasons I like you so much: even when you're not working, you're working.

There ain't enough surf in the world to repay a guy like you.

I mean that.

You are ... good kine guy. You keep me going when I feel like stopping.

My man does wrenching, and farming, and water pump setting for a living.

So,

I take my vehicle to Eagle fast lube for oil changes. I don't ask him to do more of what he's been doing all week, it makes him testy.

Kind of like, I used to teach catholasism classes after mass, then I decided that I get enough teaching during the week...and I'd rather play and visit with the kids after mass.

You, you are a good one. And in all honesty I have never changed, or even attempted to change my own oil. I'll bet I could though, if someone were to show me how.

Reminds me....Many years ago my man was showing me how to change a flat tire. He was afraid I would have a blow out and not be able to get back home, us living in the country and all. So there we were, in the front yard. He demonstrated how to do it and then he stood back and watched while I started to change it. He giving me directions as I worked.

He couldn't take it, the neighbors were doing their weekly "making a circle", or Sunday drive bye's, and driving by our house. On about the third car, he took over. Said he couldn't stand to be seen watching me change a tire while the neighbors drove by glaring at him.
